Lewisham fire quickly contained

A bushfire threatened homes in Lewisham on Tuesday afternoon. At its height, it was a Watch and Act warning, with homes on Elizabeth and Franklin Streets threatened by the fire.

It was quickly contained with the assistance of Dodges Ferry, Primrose Sands, Dunalley, Wattle Hill, Midway Point and Richmond fire brigades and aerial support. Dodges Ferry Fire Brigade gave “Thanks also to Goods Water for delivering water to the fire trucks and Subway Sorell for being able to quickly arrange meals for the crews.”
